Information for those who will be walking with us... 

To our registered walkers....
 
We are very excited to have such a great turn-out so far and are looking forward to seeing all of you on walk day.  Here is some information about walk day in hopes of making everything run smoothly. 
 
  • Each registered walker (please see our list of team members) will receive a Leslie's Team T-shirt on the day of the walk.  To help us ensure we have enough t-shirts, please be sure that your name (and the name of anyone else who will be walking with you) appears on our list.  We cannot guarantee t-shirts to anyone who is not registered by Tuesday, September 20.  Please send us an email if you are not yet on this list but are planning to walk.  Also, please contact us if you would like to arrange picking up the t-shirt prior to walk day. 

 

  • Each registered walker should have received a welcome packet from Light the Night, which includes a collection envelope.  Please let us know if you need more collection envelopes.  If you have collected donations, please place them in the collection envelope and fill out all of the information on the envelope prior to arriving at the walk.  This will ensure that things run smoothly on the day of the walk.  We will collect these envelopes at the walk and turn them in for you, or you can drop them off at 10 Bishop Road, West Hartford (Melissa's house) prior to the walk.  If you have raised $100 or more, you will receive a Light the Night t-shirt; if you have raised $200 or more, you will receive a t-shirt and a sweatshirt.  All other incentives will be received some time after the walk.  Please note that we cannot accept loose checks (not in envelopes) on the day of the walk.  Any loose checks will have to be mailed in after the walk, and may delay receiving your Light the Night incentives.  

 

  • Directions to the walk and parking information should have been sent to each registered walker.  However,  in case you did not receive the directions, they can be found here.

 

  • The event officially starts at 5:00.  The Captains will be there prior to 5:00.  Don't worry if you cannot get there that early - the walk itself does not start until dusk - around 7:00 or so.  There will be some food available at the walk (ice cream, maybe hot dogs and soda), but feel free to bring a sandwich or something to eat on the plaza. Let's hope it does not rain, but if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella!! 

 

  • How to find us on walk day....  We will meet as a team on the plaza. We will be holding a bunch of yellow balloons, and will be wearing royal blue Leslie's Team t-shirts.  If you are having trouble finding us, please call one of the following cell phone numbers and we'll get you to us.
