Leslie's Team was started in memory of Leslie Geetter, who passed away on September 11, 2004. She had been diagnosed with Leukemia just over 6 weeks before, and died from complications that arose during her treatment. That year, those who loved Leslie (and there are MANY) came together in her memory and walked in our first Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Together, we raised over $10,000, making us the top fundraising team in Hartford and the second highest in Connecticut. Quite an accomplishment considering we started our fundraising efforts just over a week prior to the walk!

This year, we want to do even better. We are increasing our efforts and hope to surpass last year's figures.

For those who knew Leslie, you know what a compassionate, giving and loving person she was. It is our mission, through Leslie's Team, to carry on her love of helping others by raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so that other people don't have to lose a loved one to this horrible disease.
